The only public golf facility on the Cape that features
36 holes, The Captains offers two 18-hole options – the
Starboard Course, which includes eight of the original holes
when The Captains opened in 1985, and the Port Course.
Considered by many to be the signature hole of the
Captains’ course, Hole 2 is a scenic par-3 (162 yards)
with a green framed by four bunkers. The Port Course,
constructed in 1999 by leading architect Brian Silva, is the
slightly more challenging of the two. Its signature hole, the
par-5 8th hole, has a pond guarding an elevated green.

There’s a reason so many 昀氀ock to Cranberry Valley, the 8th ranked
public course in Massachusetts by GolfWeek. Designed by noted
architects Geoffrey Cornish and William Robinson, the layout is
relatively 昀氀at with a healthy mix of doglegs (and a few double
doglegs) to keep play interesting.
With two doglegs, the par-5 18th hole certainly 昀椀ts that criteria.
Shaped like a horseshoe, it’s one of the more challenging holes on
the Cape, playing 521 yards from the back tees and 350 yards from
the forward ones.
