8 Attend a fall festival
Come autumn, the party is just getting started here-Cape Cod is Festival Central on weekends. Like
yard sales, they’re everywhere. Celebrate oysters,
clams, and shell-昀椀shing traditions at the Well昀氀eet
OysterFest. The two-day October event includes
arts and crafts, live music, kids’ activities, a road race,
and the Oyster Shuck Off, America’s biggest oyster
shucking competition.
The Harwich Cranberry Arts & Music Festival in
September is the town’s biggest event, featuring 150+
juried craft makers, food trucks, the CranJam (live
music), and dancing.
Calling all beer lovers: Come September, the Cape
Cod Brew Fest celebrates American craft brewers, with
50+ breweries and over 150 styles of beer. Food and
live music round out the fun at this rollicking one-day
event, held at Falmouth’s Cape Cod Fairgrounds.
9 Make a pilgrimage
to Plimoth Patuxet
Museums
Time-travel to the 17th century at Plimoth Patuxet
Museums in Plymouth for harvest season activities.
Join interpreters as they do chores, perform muster
drills, and play popular games of that era. Fall extras:
Learn how to make a fall centerpiece at a handson workshop, or enjoy a New England harvest feast
on select evenings leading up to their famous
Plimoth Patuxet Museums
